QU Stadium Renovation
Having a true “home field”–arguably the best in the GLVC–truly enhances the all-around student experience as well as the community engagement and support for Quincy University.
The initiative to “Bring Football Home” after a four year hiatus came to fruition on September 19, 2015 as the Hawks made their eagerly-anticipated return to QU Stadium before a crowd of nearly 3,000 fans. The Hawks’ 42-37 victory over Lincoln came just nine months after the school announced it would invest $4 million into the facility.
The new stadium and synthetic turf playing surfaces provide football and baseball with top-notch facilities, as well as women's and men's lacrosse (coming in 2017 and 2018, respectively).
Paramount to the student experience, college athletics is about more than wins and losses. Memories crafted before, during and after game time vitalize the entire student body.
A University is nothing without the support of the community it rests in. The new QU Stadium will be a centerpiece for the Quincy community to gather around the events and athletic teams that call it home.
“The most positive thing about the renovation is the excitement that it has generated for the community. People are excited about QU football again.”-Marc Everhart ‘16,
